Stranger in the Woods is a remarkable true story of a man who lived alone in the woods of Maine for 27 years, making this dream a reality — not out of anger at the world, but simply because he preferred to live on his own.

At first, I found it pretty challenging to convey this deceleration of time, stillness, outsiderness on one hand combined with philosophical thoughts about solitude and loneliness by the author Michael Finkel on the other. Photograph from the place of his stay, separate pages “ripped out” from the imaginary book flying in the air and subtle typesetting inside of the book were chose to achieve this specific goal while avoiding making reader feel overwhelmed by design.
